| ◆Dependability
A & T Technologies specializes in building optical fiber pigtails,
patchcord, fan-out, breakout and hybrid cable assemblies to customer
specifications, with either single-mode or multimode fiber. The
connector choice including: ST, FC, SC, LC, MTRJ, MPO, FDDI, ESCON,
SMA, DIN47256, as well as MU. Our use of premium quality, industry
recognized, connectors and cables combined with our stringent assembly
procedures and quality control methods ensures that A & T Technologies
cable assemblies achieve superior optical performance and mechanical
strength.
Our facility is capable of handling both large and small volume
assembly requirements, as well as PC polish (PC), super PC polish
(SPC), ultra PC polish (UPC), angled PC polish (APC) techniques
or other special specifications. In addition we stock a quantity
of cable assemblies pre-terminated with popular connector types
to reduce turn around time in breakdown situations.
Every cable assembly manufactured by A & T Technologies is
built to the customer’s requirements, examined and tested in accordance
with EIA 455-95 to exceed the connector
manufacturer’s insertion loss and return loss specifications. Typical
insertion losses are less than 0.1 dB.
With our state-of-art testing equipment, refined polishing machine,
advanced polishing procedure and a group of experienced technicians,
we make reliable and top quality patchcord at an affordable price.
Every patchord supplied by A & T Technologies is guaranteed
to be well polished and exceeds the industry standard.
Our facility has the latest range of test equipments to ensure
that product delivered is of the highest quality and within specification.
These equipments include a DORC interferometer and a range of Return
Loss Test Sets capable of measurements at wavelengths of 1310nm
and 1550nm.
◆Testing
System
In order to assure a satisfactory performance, a rigid testing
procedure is applied to every patchcord assembled by A & T Technologies.
The aim of this testing procedure is to make sure every A &
T Technologies patchcords are in the best condition before delivery.
◆Insertion
Loss Test
For singlemode fiber optic cable:
When tested in accordance with the GR-326-CORE, the maximum insertion
loss shall not exceed 0.3dB against master
connector. A & T Technologies’s typical value is 0.1dB.
◆For multimode
fiber optic cable:
In accordance with FOTP-34 (interconnection device insertion loss
test) and FOTP-171 (attenuation by substitution measurement), all
tests are performed by advanced testing equipment. The maximum insertion
loss shall not exceed 0.3dB against master connector. Again, A &
T Technologies’s typical value is 0.1dB.
◆Return
Loss Test
For singlemode fiber optic cable only:
Strictly following FOTP-107, JDS-Uniphase RX and RM
series Power and Back Reflection Meter is used as
testing instrument.
◆Ferrule
Surface Inspection
Every connector is inspected by 400X microscope to
ensure there is no visible scratch on the endfaces of the fiber.
◆Topography
measurement of the ferrule
DORC interferometer can display an accurate measurement of radius
of curvature, fiber height, apex offset, fiber roughness and ferrule
roughness. It is sure that, checked by our QC Manager, all the critical
parameters of our products are within specifications defined by
international organizations.”
